Bennett Lumber has invested in a full brown field planer mill for its Princeton, Id., location, complete with an extensive list of USNR products.

Looking for ways to improve production and efficiency in its planer operation, Bennett Lumber worked closely with the USNR sales team to create the best plan for their goals. After some discussion around upgrading their existing mill piece by piece, they ultimately decided a brand-new facility was the best course of action.

Applying USNR's Paragon Design Standard to the full scope of the project, the new facility will feature some of our most cost-effective and efficient wood processing solutions, optimizing the space without compromising results.

When asked why they chose to work with USNR on this project, vice president Bryson Bennett said, "USNR has been very easy to work with. We trust the product. It was kind of a no-brainer."

Bennett Lumber also selected Mid-South Engineering to assist in design, scope and implementation, a process that began in 2024 with smaller projects and adding grade optimization at its Clarkston, Wa., planer mill facility. Mid-South Engineering brings to the table a wide range of essential engineering needs, including conceptual designs, civil & site services, concrete foundations design, mechanical conveyance systems & residual systems design, electrical power distribution, other infrastructure, and more.

The Transverse High Grader (THG) puts the proven grade scanning technology into a transverse package. The THG utilizes time-tested image analysis technology and optimization software and combines it with the most advanced sensor available today.

The Multi-Track Fence is reportedly the market's top solution for high speed mills, offering infinite resolution, and guaranteed at +/- 0.125” (3 mm) accuracy. It allows wider lug spacing at higher speeds, with less critical timing than other rotary fence models, and operates with easy-to-maintain all-electric actuation.
