Tina Cannedy, director of business development – architecture in the Roof and Wall Insulation (RWI) division of Atlas Roofing Corp., Atlanta, Ga., was recently named the first ever female president of the Texas Lathing and Plastering Contractors Association (TLPCA).
Cannedy was elected to the position on June 9, 2026, and will serve a one-year term.
“Tina’s leadership has long been a credit to the industry, and now TLPCA will experience her commitment, her dedication to raising industry standards, and her drive,” said Tom Robertson, business unit manager – wall insulation at Atlas RWI. “We’ve seen Tina’s ability to build strong partnerships with our customers at Atlas, and we encourage our leaders to take their experience out into the world and advance the industry. Our heartfelt congratulations to Tina on this milestone!”
“As the number of women in construction continues to grow, I’m hopeful this marks a step toward stronger representation across our industry,” said Cannedy. “The TLPCA has been a big part of my career and my life for more than 25 years, and my primary focus is to continue advancing the board’s strong efforts in workforce development. This is a real honor, and I’m ready to get to work.”
Cannedy brings more than 25 years of experience to the table, much of that spent helping architects and builders design high-quality performance exterior wall systems that improve energy efficiency, durability, and code compliance. Her expertise includes EIFS, stucco, continuous insulation assemblies, polyiso, and air- and water-barrier systems; product development; AIA education; and system testing and approvals. She holds a B.S. in Materials Science Engineering from the University of Florida and is an active industry leader, serving as Vice Chair of ASTM E06.58 while maintaining certifications as a CSI-CDT and AWCI EIFS Inspector.
