Hardwood lumber and millwork manufacturer Weaber, Lebanon, Pa., has successfully completed its financial and operational restructuring. The company has also promoted Brian Knapp, who was key to the success of the restructuring, to serve as president in addition to his current role as COO.

Family owned and operated since its founding in 1941, Weaber emerges with enhanced financial sustainability and a clear operational strategy focused on its long-standing commitment to delivering customer satisfaction, manufacturing excellence and industry-leading technology. The restructuring follows industry-wide rising product costs, uncertainty in the nationwide housing market, and a 2025 facility fire that required the company to rebuild on multiple fronts.

The suspicious fire came five weeks after Weaber filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and just one day before the company would complete its announced plan to eliminate 145 employees.

After serving as COO for the past eight years, Knapp has been appointed to serve as president and COO. With more than 30 years of global operations and sales leadership, Knapp will pair Weaber’s longstanding values and customer commitment with modern operational efficiencies to position the company for continued success in a rapidly changing market. Matt Weaber, who has served as CEO since 2012, will remain in his role and continue to lead the company as it builds on its strong market position and decades of top-value customer service.

“As our 85th anniversary draws near, I extend my deepest gratitude to our employees for their resilience, dedication and passion, as well as our customers for their continued partnership over the past year,” Weaber said. “Because of stellar employees and customers, we have reemerged in a strong financial position and remain dedicated to upholding the highest standards of quality and service for generations to come.

“We couldn’t have gotten through the past year without Brian, who has been instrumental through the restructuring. His passion for our team, our culture and our customers is unmatched, and his strong belief in our mission will help guide our next chapter. His promotion to president is very well-deserved.”

Throughout the past year, Weaber’s 160 employees continued to manufacture flooring, wall boards, moldings and other hardwood products from thriving woodlands in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains. Weaber has maintained partnerships with customers and suppliers to deliver high-quality hardwood building products in a sustainable way, ensuring forests stay healthy. Weaber is also one of the country’s largest producers of hardwood surfaced four sides (S4S) boards.

“I’m honored to help continue the legacy set forth by the Weabers to bring sustainability, progress and innovation to the lumber industry,” Knapp said. “It’s this approach that has grown the company from a small local mill into one of the nation’s leading hardwood building products manufacturer. I look forward to helping drive our growth strategy forward while remaining steadfast in our focus to our employees, our customers and the long-term success of our company.”
