Tabor Lumber Co-op, Tabor, S.D., is merging with service station/convenience store operator Agland Co-op.
The boards of directors and members of both organizations have approved a strategic merger, which is expected to go into effect Feb. 1, 2027.
Tabor Lumber Co-Op opened in 1958 as strictly a Tabor lumberyard, soon adding a fertilizer department. It later purchased a petroleum station, built a fertilizer plant, expanded into the propane business, and added a branch in Lesterville, S.D.
Agland Co-op has been a proud part of southeastern South Dakota since the state's charter in 1939. Since then, it has worked hard to become an integral part of our local communities by providing the products and services you need, when you need them. As a 100% member-owned local cooperative, it operates service stations in Parkston and Armour, S.D., and supplies agricultural products, including bagged feed.
