A new state-of-the-art sawmill—The Lumber Manufactory—has begun production in New Albany, Ms., producing lumber from Mississippi-grown southern pine from private landowners.
The $15-million project received some financial assistance from the Mississippi Development Authority through the Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive program, as well as from AccelerateMS and Union County. It will reportedly create more than 50 jobs in the county.
