GROUND CONTACT COATING

FastenMaster's Ground Contact Coating extends the life of pressure-treated lumber used in outdoor applications by protecting against ground rot

Table of Contents

FastenMaster has introduced Ground Contact Coating to extend the life of pressure-treated lumber used in decks and fence posts, and other outdoor applications by protecting against ground rot.

The unique formula goes on white so pros can see what’s been coated and dries clear to preserve the original color and texture of the wood, allowing natural patterns and characteristics to remain visible.

Formulated with 1% disodium octaborate tetrahydrate (DOT) to resist insects and fungus, FastenMaster Ground Contact Coating is a long-lasting water-based acrylic membrane that repels the elements that cause ground rot. It comes in 1/2-gallon buckets, which covers 40 sq. ft., equal to 14 6x6 wood posts. The coating is applied with a standard bristle paint brush or a 3/8" nap roller. Prior to curing, the coating can be easily cleaned up with soap and warm water.
