R.P. Lumber opened its 91st location in Carlyle, Il., on Jan. 12. The family-owned, full-service home center and building materials retailer recently completed an extensive remodel of the former Wiegman Ford property, bringing new life to a familiar site in the community.
Over the past eight months, R.P. Lumber has transformed the well-known building—located next to Wal-Mart and across the street from McDonald’s—into a modern, full-service retail home center designed to serve both professional contractors and DIY homeowners.
“R.P. Lumber has proudly served Clinton County for many years through our locations in Highland, Greenville, Odin, and Lebanon,” said Robert Plummer, CEO of R.P. Lumber. “Opening a store in Carlyle allows us to be even closer to our customers and provide added convenience, broader product access, and the level of service they’ve come to expect from us.”
Managed by Jim Golder, the remodeled Carlyle store offers a full selection of hardware and power tools, along with a complete line of building materials including lumber, drywall, siding, and roofing products. Customers will also find a wide variety of decking options, from treated lumber to composite materials, as well as a full assortment of roofing materials.
In addition to products, the Carlyle location provides jobsite delivery, free project estimates, and kitchen & bath design services. Whether a homeowner is addressing a leaky faucet or planning a full home build, the R.P. Lumber team is equipped to help guide projects from start to finish.
Founded in 1977, R.P. Lumber continues to grow by reinvesting in the communities it serves, pairing modern facilities with knowledgeable local teams and a strong commitment to customer service.
“This project reflects our long-term belief in Clinton County and the people who live and work here,” Plummer added. “We’re excited to serve the Carlyle community for many years to come.”
