Workbench True Value Hardware is closing its 50-year-old store at Valley Plaza in Pleasanton, Ca., on Feb. 28 and consolidating operations at its sister location in downtown Pleasanton.
Owner Fred Nichandros said consolidation plans have been in the works ever since he signed the lease for the Main Street location in 2013. The Main Street location boasts twice the square footage, more merchandise and services, and is just over a mile away. As well, over the years business in the city has been migrating downtown.
