The National Hardwood Lumber Association hit all the right notes during its recent annual convention in Cleveland, Oh., uniting members of the hardwood lumber industry for three days of networking, education and industry discussion.
The event opened Sept. 16 with the annual ITSEF Golf Tournament, followed by the Opening Jam Welcome Reception that evening.
Thursday began with the Opening Session featuring keynote speaker Connor Lokar, followed by a full day in the exhibit showcase. Educational sessions covered topics including opportunities to reduce operating costs through wood energy and the outlook for global markets and American hardwood. The day concluded with the Better Together Reception at Cleveland's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
The final day included the NHLA General Session, another full day of exhibits and networking, and several industry-focused programs. Sessions included the Rules Change Open Forum, a panel on thermal modification, and a hardwood market outlook from Hardwood Review's Dan Meyer covering current market conditions, demand, exports, and economic forces affecting the industry. The convention concluded that evening with NHLA's Encore Celebration.
Throughout the event, attendees had opportunities to connect with hardwood producers, distributors, manufacturers, suppliers, and other industry professionals while discussing the current challenges and opportunities facing the hardwood sector.”
