From April 20–23, LMC dealers gathered on the University of Pennsylvania campus for an executive education experience. Together, they invested in the knowledge, perspective, and leadership skills that drive long-term success. LMC’s relationship with the Wharton School of Business offers members an exclusive opportunity to grow as business professionals and individuals while expanding their insights and perspectives.

The LMC Wharton Executive Education Program featured sessions designed to strengthen dealer organizations. Over four days, participants explored essential business disciplines, including finance, strategy, negotiations, and leadership. The shared learning environment encouraged collaboration and knowledge exchange across the dealer network.

Paul Thorne, LMC’s vice president of stockholder relations, noted, “The continued success of the LMC Wharton Program reflects LMC’s commitment to investing in the future of its members and the next generation of industry leaders.”

One of the defining elements of the program was the Case Study developed by LMC staff, dealers, and Wharton faculty. The case study examined a real-world business scenario specific to the forest products and building materials industry. Participants worked in teams to evaluate strategic, financial, and operational considerations. Each team then presented its recommendations for group discussion, reinforcing applied learning and shared insights.

A standout addition to the curriculum was the Wharton Leadership Navigation Challenge, an interactive component that enhanced the overall program. This immersive, team-based exercise required participants to navigate a complex scenario across the campus while applying collaboration, communication, and adaptable leadership under pressure. The experience reflected authentic workplace conditions and reinforced guiding teams through change.

Junior Worley of Tindell’s Inc. in Knoxville, Tn., said, “LMC created such an incredible event. The perspectives and education were career changing. It was excellent to be alongside a dynamic and influential group of leaders. I am grateful for the opportunity to attend.”
