LBM Advantage, New Windsor, N.Y., has launched the LBM Advantage Women’s Alliance, a new initiative designed to foster connection, professional development, and leadership opportunities for women across the co-op’s membership of independent lumberyards.

The Alliance soft launched in March with a virtual leadership webinar featuring Lynne Jensen-Nelson, CEO of Conversionomics, who presented “Lead with Impact, Influence & Inspiration.” The session received overwhelmingly positive feedback from members and reinforced the demand for meaningful conversations and programming focused on bringing more women into the lumber and building materials industry, leadership development and career growth.

Building on the success of the inaugural event, LBM Advantage will host its second Women’s Alliance program on Sept. 3—a live Teams webinar featuring a panel comprised of respected female professionals who hold various roles at the co-op’s member organizations. Panelists include Louise Eddy, owner of Saratoga Quality Hardware; Clara Collins, operations manager at S.W. Collins Co.; Donna DiMarco, VP at Monmouth Building Center; and Ivy Su-Johanson, director of purchasing at Spahn and Rose.

The discussion will focus on career journeys, leadership experiences, challenges and opportunities, and practical insights for women at all stages of their careers.

“Our goal is to create an engaging and authentic conversation that highlights the many career paths available within our industry while providing practical insight and inspiration for those who wish to advance their careers,” said Kellianne Lundgren, director of human resources at LBM Advantage.

The LBM Advantage Women’s Alliance is part of the organization’s ongoing commitment to supporting its members through education, networking, leadership development, and industry collaboration.
