Ace Retail Group, owner and operator of more than 260 Ace hardware stores throughout North America, opened four new locations this spring in Charlotte, N.C.; Papillion, Ne.; San Leandro, Ca.; and Shawnee, Ks.

All four stores feature lawn and garden supplies, fasteners, tools, plumbing, and electrical supplies, and offer such services as key cutting, automotive key fob replacement, STIHL outdoor power equipment repair, carpet cleaning machine rental, and propane tank exchange. The stores will also showcase several specialty departments, selling such leading brands as:
• Stihl, Ego, and Milwaukee outdoor power equipment
• Benjamin Moore and Magnolia Home by Joanna Gaines paints
• Diablo saw blades and power tool accessories
• Milwaukee, DeWalt, and Craftsman power tools
• Weber, Traeger, Blackstone, and Big Green Egg grills and accessories
• Scotts and Miracle-Gro lawn and plant care products
• Yeti, Owala, and Stanley drinkware and coolers
Opened on March 6, the new Westlake Ace Hardware in Papillion (suburban Omaha) sits in the Shadow Lake Towne Center at 72nd Street and Highway 370. The 14,000-sq. ft. store will also feature an outdoor Garden Center, selling a wide variety of seasonal flowers and plants, and perennial shrubs and bushes.
General manager Jeffrey Schendt has been with Westlake Ace Hardware since 2001 and has extensive experience working at the company’s stores in the Omaha and Lincoln.
Ace Retail Group currently owns and operates nine stores in the greater Omaha metropolitan region.
Ace Hardware of San Leandro opened on March 13. Located at 699 Lewelling Blvd. in the Greenhouse Marketplace Shopping Center, the store features approximately 15,000 sq. ft. of retail space.
The general manager is Jerry Hunt, a customer-focused retail industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience.
Ace Retail Group currently owns and operates 24 locations in California.
March 27 was the first day of business for the new Westlake Ace Hardware in the Ballantyne Commons East Shopping Center in Charlotte. The store features approximately 9,000 sq. ft. of retail space.
With more than 20 years of experience in the retail industry, general manager Joel Taylor II has a passion for cultivating high-performing teams.
Ace Retail Group currently owns and operates 16 stores in North Carolina under the Westlake Ace and Outer Banks Ace brands.
The new Westlake Ace Hardware in Shawnee, Ks., opened on April 10. Located at 6515 Silverheel St. (in the Monticello Shopping Center), the 12,500 sq. ft. store features several specialty departments and store-within-a-store concepts, such as The Kitchen Connection at Westlake Ace, Power Tools and Outdoor Power, and Backyard BBQ.
Retail veteran Melissa Minter is the general manager of the new Shawnee store. Since joining the company in 2019, Minter has held management positions at three Ace Retail Group stores in California (La Crescenta, Porter Ranch, and Simi Valley) and the Westlake Ace store at 1185 W. Santa Fe St. in Olathe, Ks.
