MITER Brands, Harrisburg, Pa., is consolidating its operations in Florida.
The window and door manufacturer will be closing its facility in Medley, Fl., in fourth quarter 2025 and in Hialeah, Fl., in first quarter 2025, while relocating production lines to other MITER plants in the state.
MITER will also be opening a new, advanced glass manufacturing plant in Pembroke Pines, Fl.
The Medley and Hialeah facilities were among those MITER acquired early last year from PGT Innovations.
The efforts are said to align with the company’s focus on efficiency, innovation, and long-term growth.
As part of this strategic transition, MITER Brands will relocate production of its high-demand product lines to its other Florida facilities and sunset two product lines. This decision reflects the company’s ongoing efforts to streamline its offerings and focus on delivering market-preferred solutions that align with evolving customer needs and industry trends.
“By retiring certain product lines, our team is able to concentrate our resources on the products and technologies that offer the greatest value to our partners,” said Brian Covey, VP of sales for MITER Brands. “With this focus, we’ve made substantial investments in nearby facilities to ensure we maintain the highest quality standards, while continuing to deliver the exceptional value our customers expect.”
The new glass plant in Pembroke Pines is expected to open in 2026 and will feature advanced glass manufacturing processes that will enable MITER Brands to build the next generation of residential window and door products. This investment underscores the company’s commitment to innovation and supporting the South Florida region with high-paying jobs, manufacturing high-quality products designed for coastal performance.
“With our long-standing presence and collaboration on building code development in Florida through our PGT brand, we have a deep understanding of the region's design trends, code requirements, and ideal products for single-family and multi-family applications,” said Dean Ruark, senior VP of engineering and product development for MITER Brands. “This new plant will enhance our ability to provide high-quality, impact-resistant solutions tailored to local needs.”
Founded in 1947, MITER Brands is a residential window and door manufacturer that produces a portfolio of window and door brands for the new construction and replacement segments with an owner-operated, family-first approach.
