HFG BUYS, REMODELS PENNSYLVANIA ACES

Houchens Food Group acquired Ace Hardware, Butler, Pa.

Houchens Food Group (HFG), Bowling Green, Ky., has purchased Ace Hardware in Butler, Pa., from Mary and Mike Waggner and Cameron and Amy Bodamer.  

HFG owns Ace Hardware stores in six states—Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, and Pennsylvania—as well as more than 400 grocery stores across 15 states, plus several fast food franchises.

As a 100% employee-owned company, HFG said it remains committed to investing in strong, community-focused businesses and continuing to support the Butler community while carrying forward the tradition of helpful service customers expect from Ace Hardware of Butler.

Since opening in 2017, the store has become a trusted destination for hardware products and services, building a strong reputation for exceptional customer service and community involvement.

“We are thrilled to partner with Houchens to carry on the legacy of Ace Hardware of Butler,” the owners added. “Our employees plan to continue with Houchens, which is part of one of the largest employee-owned companies in the country. We know they will continue a successful path and serve the community of Butler into the future.”

One more earlier, on April 22, HFG celebrated the grand reopening of Ace Fix-It Hardware in Roaring Spring, Pa., after its Ace Hardware Corp. Elevate 3 remodel, enhancing the shopping experience for our community.

The day featured remarks from community and business leaders, including Steve McKnight, State Senator Scott Barger, Ben Nixon, and Mike Kasun.

Guests enjoyed product showcases, samples and giveaways from vendor partners like DeWalt, Milwaukee Tool, Weber, Stihl, Benjamin Moore, and Super Glue. The day concluded with a ceremonial board cutting alongside Ace team members, Store Support Center representatives from Kentucky, and members of the local Chamber of Commerce.
