Ganahl Lumber Co., Anaheim, Ca., has agreed to purchase the assets and real estate of Nichols Lumber, Baldwin Park, Ca.
The transaction is expected to close in the next 30 days subject to customary closing conditions.
Since 1958, Nichols Lumber has been a cornerstone of the Baldwin Park community. Today, as it partners with Ganahl Lumber, the company enters a new era of growth and opportunity. This transition not only strengthens the business but also provides Nichols employees with an exciting new opportunity and a long-term home within the Ganahl Lumber family, ensuring the same commitment to service and community for years to come.
Unlike the recent trend of consolidation by large corporations, Ganahl remains a family and employee owned, independent entity. This acquisition ensures that Nichols Lumber will continue to operate with the agility and personal touch that only independent ownership can provide.
“We didn't just buy a lumberyard; we invested in a legacy,” said Dan Delaney, COO of Ganahl Lumber. “In an era where the industry is becoming increasingly depersonalized by large conglomerates, we believe our independence is our greatest strength. It allows us to keep our focus exactly where it belongs: on the local builders, and framers who keep this community growing.”
Founded in 1884, Ganahl Lumber operates 13 Southern California locations, including three others in Los Angeles County (Northridge, Pasadena and Torrance), two in San Diego County (Escondido and Fallbrook), seven in Orange County (Anaheim, Buena Park, Costa Mesa, Laguna Beach, Lake Forest, Los Alamitos, San Juan Capistrano), and one in Riverside County (Corona).
Nichols will become its fourth L.A. County location and adds something the company was searching for: a second well-located, contractor-oriented will call facility to the San Gabriel Valley.
