Georgia-Pacific, a leading commercial and residential building products manufacturer committed to developing the highest-quality products while leading with a tireless commitment to innovation and sustainability, has formed a strategic collaborative partnership with Sika Corp. to launch a new EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finishing System) featuring DensElement Barrier System.
The new integrated system offers a streamlined, durable, and weather-resistant building envelope solution designed to save time, reduce material use and improve jobsite reliability across a wide variety of commercial construction applications.
“Innovation is key at Georgia-Pacific, and our collaboration with Sika represents a contractor-focused step forward,” said Joseph Harris, product manager of DensElement Barrier System, Georgia-Pacific Building Products. “This new system maximizes the efficiency, continuity, and high-performance of DensElement Barrier System, combined with the established reliability of Sika’s three EIFS brands, and delivers a solid, innovative solution to our customers, backed by two respected names in building materials.”
DensElement Barrier System is an integrated water-resistive barrier and air barrier (WRB/AB) sheathing systems that can be installed in various weather conditions for faster job completion1. Combining efficiency and high-performance to help achieve faster dry-in and mitigate installation risks, DensElement Barrier System can be used behind many top cladding choices. Offering continuity, simplicity, flexibility, and a faster-to-done time, DensElement Barrier System helps complete projects faster.
Key benefits of Sika EIFS with Georgia-Pacific’s DensElement Barrier System:
• Continuity. DensElement Barrier System helps to minimizes the impact of weather, cure times, and surface-prep variability, enabling faster, more consistent installations.
• Material Savings. With the AWRB integrated directly into DensElement Sheathing, contractors can reduce material usage and jobsite waste associated with field-applied products.
• High-performance. The new system is code compliant and retains the high-performance benefits of EIFS, including continuous insulation (improved energy efficiency), a drainage plane (for incidental moisture), and design versatility.
• Warranty. DensElement Barrier System offers a 12-year limited warranty for use as a drainage plane when the system promotes drainage, and Sika EIFS offers a 12-year material warranty, resulting in comprehensive assembly protection.
