Great Southern Wood Preserving, Incorporated’s banner product YellaWood brand pressure treated pine is taking another lap around the historic Talladega Superspeedway, returning as the title sponsor of the fall NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs race for the second year in a row.

Together with NASCAR and thousands of fans, the YellaWood brand is celebrating the return of racing at Talladega from Saturday, October 2, 2021 to Sunday, October 3, 2021. The YellaWood 500, which is a 188-lap event, begins at 1:00 p.m. CDT and is the second race in the Round of 12 for the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs. In addition to sponsoring the race, YellaWood® is also bringing its Five Star Backyard experience from company headquarters in Abbeville to Talladega; the company is throwing the Ultimate Backyard Bash in celebration of dealers and customers.

“We’re honored to continue our NASCAR partnership,” said Founder and CEO Jimmy Rane. “YellaWood takes great pride in creating Five Star Backyards, and we are thrilled to bring that experience to NASCAR fans at our Ultimate Backyard Bash.”

The YellaWood brand’s Ultimate Backyard Bash is an opportunity for race guests, dealers and distributors to experience its signature products in person. The space will host everything from product displays to games and giveaways so guests can recreate their own Five Star Backyard experience at home. Featuring a fence and deck installation – made from YellaWood brand products and sealed with YellaWood Protector, its new, premier line of stains and sealants – this is a great chance for dealers to get a close-up demonstration of the products.

“YellaWood has spent decades developing products to meet the needs of dealers, contractors and homeowners,” said YellaWood Director of Branding and Marketing Operations, Rob Pongonis. “We look forward to events, like the YellaWood 500, that allow us to return that investment to our YellaWood family an engaging way.”

Guests who visit the Ultimate Backyard Bash can take pictures atop an 8-feet Adirondack chair made from the YellaWood brand’s signature product, try their luck at landing a football inside a 6-feet tall YellaWood Protector stain can and take a (virtual) ride around the track inside the NASCAR race simulator. But it wouldn’t be a Saturday in the South without college football, so games will be streaming throughout the booth all weekend long. Top it off with games, prizes and live music and the Ultimate Backyard Bash is not to be missed.

In addition to the Ultimate Backyard Bash, the sponsorship of the Fall NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs Race at Talladega Superspeedway will incorporate YellaWood branding outside of the booth with signage, social and digital media, radio, and broadcast elements spanning the 2.66-mile venue and throughout the race broadcast.
