Woodgrain Millwork, Fruitland, Id., has purchased a pair of businesses that produce polyethylene plastic-coated lumber products—Woodguard Inc., Cottage Grove, Or., and EcoForm, Palm Springs, Ca.

Woodguard, founded over 30 years ago by Don Kain, is known for pioneering a patented plastic coating process that is applied to a variety of wood products such as closet poles, fencing, sign posts, and playground equipment.

EcoForm was founded by contractor Dan Kelly in the 1990s, to manufacture coated engineered lumber products including reusable concrete forms and landscape edging.

Woodgrain anticipates the products will integrate seamlessly into its operations, due to the vertical integration of its mills and distribution network.
