The stud mill processes kiln dried and green Douglas fir and hemlock.

The new equipment is designed for high speed operation, from 160 to 220 LPM depending on the product being processed. Being installed are a Multi-Track Fence, Transverse High Grader (THG), back-to-back lineshaft trimmer (multi-saw lineshaft trim saws at the infeed side, P.E.T. saws at the outfeed side), starwheel drop out gate to accommodate high speed operation, and WinTally sorter management system.

The THG has BioLuma 2900LVG+ sensors configured for four-sided scanning, and offering Deep Learning A.I. technology. It will be fully integrated with the sorter management system, giving the mill complex control of its product production and sorts.
