NJ’s DuBell Lumber Shuts Down

After 97 years of business, DuBell Lumber Co., Medford, N.J., abruptly closed all operations on Feb. 9.

DuBell had operated stores in Medford, Cherry Hill, Pleasantville and Winslow, N.J.; a kitchen and bath showroom and K&B distribution center in Vineland, N.J.; and a truss plant in Millville, N.J.

The closure put an end to 157 jobs.

Just two years ago, DuBell was granted an $18-million tax break by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority, after promising a sizable expansion—a promise that will go unfulfilled.
