New SYP Mill Coming to Mississippi

Mission Forest Products is building a sawmill in Corinth, Ms., capable of producing 250 million bd. ft. of southern yellow pine lumber a year.

Mission Forest Products is building a sawmill in Corinth, Ms., capable of producing 250 million bd. ft. of southern yellow pine lumber a year.

The $160-million project is expected to create 130 jobs by 2022.

Parent company Timberland Investment Resources said it selected Corinth because of its rail and road access, as well as its proximity to plentiful timber supply and growing population centers such as Memphis, Nashville and Birmingham.
